Qlab is essential for live shows, practical and easy to use.

However, during rehearsals, especially technical rehearsals, coordination with other sections can become complicated. We are asked to go to specific moments in the programming, loading cue sequences at determined times. Being familiar with the project makes the task easier; it only requires concentration and seconds to adapt.

Yet, in complex and unfamiliar schedules, it becomes more challenging and slower to navigate to specific points. A technician unfamiliar with the show or session may encounter serious difficulties in conducting a technical run-through, consuming time and patience from the team. Additionally, it may lead to incorrect references and uncomfortable situations, forcing the designer to be present in rehearsals where their presence may not be necessary.

To address this, I wrote some scripts that load cues at specific times in a separate cue list. While they worked well, creating them was somewhat tedious, requiring time the night before.

Then it occurred to me to create a system to automatically record memories or snapshots, eliminating the tedium and allowing for quick setup during a rehearsal if necessary. And that is precisely what I did.
